Holy CRAP I'm busy

Wed Sep 9, 2009, 8:44 PM
Okay, a few developments: I've managed to find myself working on a comic series, Reichenbach for Capstone Comics Publishing; I'm designing a website (possibly two); and I'm illustrating a children's book -- With the possibility of a further six :\ Naturally, all have deadlines. I'd be a lot more secure about all this if not for the fact that I have to work it all around the full-time day-job I just started -- But then, if not for said job I'll starve. Guess that leaves no time whatsoever for commissions (which is okay; no-one expressed interest anyway :D), and not really any semblance of a personal life.

And I've let my messages-list pile up. Again. Sorry guys

Assuming I survive to late October, and I can swing a three-day RTO without getting fired, I hope to hit the Star Wars Fan Days convention in Dallas with the Capstone crew. Come on up and say hi :)

Whoa, that sounds like quite a pile of work. I'm sure you'll get it all done, but good luck anyway. ;)

We all have our time machines. Some take us back, they're called memories. Some take us forward, they're called dreams.

The job is sellin' DVD's at a nearby electronics-store; nothin' to get too excited about ^^; Thanks though!

Good stuff, man. You may be busy, but thats better then not being busy and not making any cash right? Anyways, I've found my way to OutpostAvP and I'm glad to see the community coming back again.(Er...me being a part of it) =D

Sure did... Point for you. I guess with all this stuff showing up at once and picking up the all-paying day job I couldn't really see the forest through the trees ^^' I must say that the immediacy of my previous job was very gratifying; I animated something, I published it, and I sent it out into the world, or rather, to my directors right down the hall -- It was done, I got paid on salary, all was well. With the book jobs I'm working at home and largely cut off from the other project members; I can't get paid until the deed is done (and that's on what I am getting paid for; there's a lot I do free) and I can't show any of the work to anyone in the meantime. Somehow that was making it feel a little less real for me; almost as though I disconnected the understanding between a job and a favor, as I've been known to do.

I'll draw with gusto, but I don't have any sort of a head for business

I'm awfully deep in things at the moment, and somewhere in the midst of putting on a dress-shirt and tie to peddle DVD's for eight hours a day I nearly forgot that I'm not pursuing an art career, I'm still engaged in one. Thanks a lot for keeping me straight, man :)
